Happy Monday!
It's the first Monday in February and I'm keeping track of doing my Editor's Note. Did you all watch the Superbowl last night? I loved the performances from JHUD, Alicia Keys and of course BEYONCE! I was beyond impressed by her performance. I also loved that she shared the moment with Kelly and Michelle. AH-MAY-ZING!
So in February we celebrate Black History Month. I remember every year my dad watching Roots, Eyes on the Prize, and making sure we were learning about Black History in school. We also celebrate Valentine's Day, which is suppose to be about the person you love. I hate to hear people say they don't have a Valentine or that they hate this holiday. If you don't have a Valentine, treat yourself to a nice meal or your favorite sweet treat. It's not about having a man/woman.
I also want to talk about goals and plans. If you haven't stuck to your resolutions for January, take this opportunity to start over now. Didn't make it to the gym like you planned.. Go today! Didn't clean/organize they way you wanted. Get to it!
It's very easy to say but I want to give you all an example. In December 2011, I made a goal to be featured on Fox 2's Style File and I made those steps in September of 2012. I made sure I put my best foot forward. It didn't happen in 2012 like I SAID..But it did happen in January 2013. It was proof to me that I could accomplish my goals. So now I'm making BIGGER plans and goals and because I have faith that I can do it. I tend to be negative, I procrastinate and I'm my own worse enemy. I gotta do better.
I'm making plans for Love of Style by Erika. I'm going to remember what a fellow blogger Mattieologie said...1. Be Yourself 2. Not everyone is going to like you. 3. Be Honest with Yourself. So I'm going to continue to post things that I love and do what I love. I hope my readers stay tuned. As Always, thanks for reading. XOXO!
